Techno stuff:  Raw DV Video footage is extremely demanding on hard drive space.  For example 10 minutes of raw footage will use approximately 2Gb of hard drive space.  Therefore the footage must be compressed to a manageable size and to the correct video format to enable its incorporation on to either an iPod or USB pen drive.
